As a textile artist my primary interest is in sewing stories in the form of ‘stitchures' - pictures and words machine sewn in a freehand style. These stitched line drawings are purposefully sketchy and the threads left hanging depict a tender and vulnerable expression of my personal history.

My current project concerns the idea of invisibility from a personal and historic point of view. I intend to continue on this theme at PhD level with a debate on the apparent invisibility of women in their 50s, both internally and externally with particular reference to the media and the implied requirement to look younger than our years.
